The 2711-K3A2L1 belongs to the series of PanelView Standard Terminal panels from Allen-Bradley. This model has a monochrome transflective LCD screen (128 x 64 pixels resolution), a keypad user interface with 8 function keys (from F1 to F8) and some navigation keys that can be configured as additional functinon keys. The terminal runs on a 24 volts DC power supply. PanelBuilder32 comes with the panel and allows the user to develop and download new applications to the panel and eventually modify existing ones. This software is available for Windows Operating Systems from 2000 to Vista and it is available in five different languages. Downloading applications to a target just requires a network that may be direct or through a gateway. Many functions can be configured from the Configuration Mode menu of the panel, such as, language change, set communication parameters, adjust screen parameters, set time and date or obtain terminal and application information. The terminal operating temperature ranges from 0 to 55 degrees Celsius (32 to 131 degrees Fahrenheit). To be able to carry out maintenance tasks successfully, the operator should allow access to the back of the panel. On the back of the device, the user may find a green LED that will show when the communication is running and a red LED that will show whether a firmare or hardware error has occurred. The terminal should be placed in environments according to IEC-1131-2 pollution degree 2 protection that means non-conductive contamination only could occur. This terminal is able to function correctly up to 2000 meters of altitude (6561 feet).
